Last year the girls of Troop 421 earned their Bronze award by helping the Homeless Paws organization find good homes for the homeless animals. It was so enjoyable and rewarding for them that they wanted to help the animals more. The troop will be hosting an event called Second Chance Pet Adoption The girls will be collecting pet supplies for the rescues and any pet donations will be distributed among the rescues the day of the event. Please download the Second Chance Pet Adoption Flyer for more details and to find out how you can get involved! - Diane Modri

The girls of Cadette Troop 171 took inspiration from their sister Troop 231's artistic care box and created a painted Holiday Care Box of their own. The box was filled with Girl Scout nuts, snacks, and toiletries. It was sent to Alexia's Dad, who is stationed in Afghanistan. Take a look at Troop 171's Holiday Care Box photo gallery!

Girl Scout Cadette / Senior troop 162 just finished serving homemade Christmas cookies to over 500 people at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. Even the girls who could not attend, baked and sent cookies along with those who could. We had more than enough cookies for each person to have four or five cookies. We even had enough left over that some will be for tomorrow night’s dessert at the mission as well. The girls worked hard in their kitchens and do a lot of good work there. Troop 162 regularly serves meals and works in the kitchen at the mission. I’m really proud of all of them. - Diane Disbrow, Troop 162 leader

Daisy Troop 377 and Brownie Troop 218 joined together this holiday season to give the gift of song. On December 13th, the girls started Christmas Caroling in the dining area and then up and down the halls and into the hearts of the residents at Manchester Manor Rehab. Residents were laughing, clapping, smiling from ear to ear, and some people were even singing along. Emotions ran deep and it felt good to bring joy and cheer. The event was an amazing experience that both the troops and residents will never forget! After Troop 377 and Troop 218 finished singing, the staff surprised the girls with an unexpected treat consisting of many varieties of scrumptious cookies. Take a look at their photo gallery. - Darlene Doering, Troop 218 News Secretary
